There's not much to tell you about Phuket. It's crowded with tourists but it does have many nice beaches. If you don't mind crowded beaches and too many tourists, or if you're just looking for a easy beach holiday with an chance to party, you might as well go to Phuket. It's conveniant, but not really our place.
